Clarendon Academy is a thriving 11-18 school. Since out last Ofsted in 2014 which graded us as a good school with outstanding leadership and outstanding behaviour, we have been working tirelessly to drive to outstanding in all categories.

Our commitment is to the highest possible standards for every child, providing excellent teaching and learning to ensure that all students reach their full potential. We were pleased this year to receive our Raise Online analysis which showed that the outgoing year 11 students made the best progress of any year group ever in the school. We aim to build on this with the current and future cohorts. Clarendon is a disciplined establishment where students are happy and safe, respected and respectful. It gives us great pride when visitors come to Clarendon and comment on the calm, purposeful learning environment and the polite, friendly children. This is achieved by a constant focus on teaching interesting, engaging lessons. Senior staff visit lessons every day to see that children are supported and challenged to achieve their best and to provide constant feedback to the staff.
Excellent schools are supportive schools and we pride ourselves on knowing our students as individuals so that they can be successful and enjoy school from joining us in Year 7 to graduating from our Sixth Form in Year 13. The Clarendon promise is that every child matters.
You can be assured that as the Principal of Clarendon I regard it as my duty to ensure the very best for all students and all staff must share that commitment. Only those staff with a commitment to outstanding work are employed by the Academy. We therefore have an excellent team of teaching staff who we work hard to develop from NQT through to middle and senior leadership. We manage this by a rigorous CPD programme with activities scheduled throughout the year. This programme includes faculty lead work, whole school activities and teach meet style meetings where we link up with local schools. Our middle leaders are encouraged to develop their skills through an emerging leader’s programme where teachers in their second or third year are encouraged to work on whole school projects.
Working in partnership with the Education Fellowship, we strive to go far beyond the norm in terms of our quality and expectations. This really is a transformational place to learn and work.
