Individual Learning is based in The Phoenix Centre.
The Phoenix Centre offers interventions for students with additional needs. This may include for example, literacy groups, behaviour support or social communication group. The school is funded as a Physical Impairment Resource Base. We have a physiotherapy room and a disabled toilet which is large enough for a hoist to be used.
The Skills Group, based in the Phoenix Centre, is for students who have enhanced learning provision [ELP]. This means they have been identified as having higher level needs and have additional funding to provide support or withdrawal. They may receive additional help with literacy, numeracy and speech and language difficulties.
In KS4 we offer alternative courses such as COPE.
The school offers COPE and Wider Key Skills for students who need a more practical curriculum with an emphasis on developing key skills for life. It is a full GCSE equivalent course based on key skills. It combines practical work and personal projects. It is assessed through a portfolio of evidence including practical work.
Practical Life Skills 'Step UP and Personal and Social Development
