Improvements to Site Security
Dear Parents and Carers
I am writing to inform you about work that has been carried out during the Easter holidays to improve the security and safety of our students at the academy. We have added a new security fence to the front of the site and improved the fence at the rear. We have, for a long time, been aware of the potential lack of security that our safe but older and open site presents. We are therefore very pleased that we have been able to improve our site in this way with funding obtained through our Fellowship, therefore bringing us in line with most other schools.
We will use House assemblies this week to ensure that our students are fully briefed about how these new security measures will work and how it will affect their entrance and exit from school. The access points will be closed during the school day.
Parents and other legitimate visitors to the academy will, of course, still be able to gain access in the usual way by signing in at reception. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that if you would like to speak to an individual member of staff, it is most helpful to contact the school first to make an appointment. Schools are very busy places and it is not always possible to see the person you require without making an appointment first.
I am sure you will agree this is a very positive step in order to ensure the safety of our students.
