Ski Andorra 2017
The spring half term break found a gaggle of keen intermediate and a plethora of brave novice skiers heading to the beautiful principality of Andorra for a week of snow, ski, sun and fun. We were not disappointed!
The first day saw blizzard conditions that did prove a serious challenge, but well done those beginners because they faced and met that challenge, with all beginners managing to ‘get down a red’ by the end of the week!
The stormy weather did have a fantastic impact on the rest of the weeks skiing with fresh, deep powder that resulted in some pretty dramatic wipe-outs (staff included!). Mr Williams, a novice skier, braved red slopes by day three and set the challenge for many others in the Flamingo group.
As well as some awesome skiing as part of the trip we also had some fun, crazy activities to fill our après ski time. Chocolate hunting around the hotel, inter-room challenges, visiting the capital for a shop and let’s not forget the karaoke and Harry dancing some people are still deaf from that experience! Special mentions have to go to Isabel Tree and her fantastic fancy dress costume. The best tub of popcorn on the slope. Callum Kempster made a tremendous skiing monkey. Matt Padfield certainly enjoys singing a tune whilst dueting with Ollie Fyfe who managed to give a few tunes the death metal effect.
The ski instructors, hotel staff and trip reps all commented on how Clarendon students were so much fun, friendly, polite and helpful, a true credit to the school and themselves. It’s little comments like that which make it a pleasure to arrange and take students abroad so roll on the next trip in 2019! Reserve your place October 2017.
