The Clarendon Academy Library
"A Writer only begins a book. A reader finishes it" - Samuel Johnson
The Clarendon Academy Library supports the aims of the Academy of ‘widening horizons so that all those within our academy grow in each other’s company’.
The Library collection is divided between the main Library, located in the Spectrum building, and a dedicated Sixth Form Library, located in the Adrian Green Centre. Both facilities offer a quiet environment in which academic studies can take place. The Library collection contains over 12,000 resources, 3,500 of these are fiction titles, suitable for a range of ages and abilities. All members of Library staff are passionate about reading and learning. Our display area reflects both this passion for reading and also the commitment to learning and widening students’ horizons.
Both libraries have access to IT and printing facilities for students, and study space for the completion of homework. Small items of stationery are also sold in the main Library.
Both libraries are open from 8.30-4.00 and a member of staff is available at all times to help students with their research.
