Clarendon Academy students are celebrating the best results that the Sixth Form has ever achieved. 22% of A-Level results were at A* or A, with nearly half of all results at B and above. In applied and vocational subjects, 63% were at Distinction* and Distinction, with 84% at Merit and above.

The school leaders and teachers are incredibly proud of all the students in Year 13. Outstanding A-Level results were achieved by Maksymilian Zajac (A*A*A*), Chloe Ince (A*AA), Milo Sones (A*AA), Lauren Bee (AAA), Holly Smyth (A*AB), Will Topping (A*AB), Jorja Warner (AAB) and Lucy McRae (AB Distinction). There were also a number of stand out performances in vocational subjects, including Livia Bassett who achieved a double Distinction in Health and Social Care alongside an A in Sociology, Katelin Fisher who achieved a Distinction*- Distinction in Health and Social Care and a B in Sociology, Aaron Yu who achieved a double Distinction* in Sport alongside Bs in Physics and Chemistry, and Leo Capindale who achieved a double Distinction* in Sport and a B in Sociology.

The vast majority of students who have applied to university through UCAS have secured their first choice placements. Clarendon students will now move on to pursue courses in Dentistry at the University of Birmingham, Politics at the University of Warwick, Biochemistry at the University of Bath, Computer Science at the University of Leeds –and many more.

One of the most outstanding pupil performances was that of Botond Voros, a student who is still in Year 12, but who has already achieved three A*grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

Another exceptional set of results was achieved by Mohammed Fourhali: From a young age, Mohammed has had to balance his schoolwork alongside a range of complex and life-threatening medical issues. Throughout all of this time, he has worked hard and has stayed focused on his future, displaying a level of maturity far greater than his years. Today, Mohammed has achieved a grade C in Sociology, a D in History and a Merit in Performing Arts. He has also secured a place at the University of West England to study Law from September. He is an inspiration to all of the staff and the students at Clarendon.

Dr Claire Hidalgo-Curtis, the Head of Sixth Form, said this: “Despite the return to ‘normal’ grade boundaries and all the challenges facing students who are applying to university this year, our students have achieved amazing things. We are delighted by the results that every one of them has achieved and look forward to hearing about the wonderful futures they will now go on to build for themselves.”

Mr Mike Griffiths, the Deputy Headteacher, also wanted to share his praise of the students: “We have three core values at Clarendon: Respect, Determination and Excellence. These students have faced a number of unusual challenges, but they have risen above all of them because they all possess these values in abundance. They are role models to younger students in our school, and I know the whole of our Trowbridge community will feel proud of them.”
