Catering
Cashless Catering at Clarendon
Students at Clarendon Academy do not use cash to pay for purchases in the dining room, or any of our other catering facilities in the school.
What are the benefits of cashless catering?
• to make life simpler and safer for students
• so that students will no longer need to bring money into school to pay for food
• to improve the quality of the school meals service at Clarendon Academy
• to cope with a rising school population and increasing meal sales
How do Parents pay for food and drink?
Parents are given a ParentMail and can add funds to this online. If you haven’t been notified of your account, you will need to contact the school's Finance Office to set one up. You can email: finance@acorneducationtrust.com . (If you do not have internet access, you can give your child money which they can put into a "cash loader" machine in school to credit their account).
When will biometric data be collected?
On your child's first day they will have their biometric data registered if we have consent, or they will be allocated a PIN number which they will need to remember and keep safe. This biometric data will not be used for any other purpose.
Why do we need to ask for your consent?
• We are following strict rules about using biometric data
• We must have written consent from at least one parent.
• (A non-resident parent does not need to give their consent but if they object in writing, then we cannot register the student for biometric recognition)
Where can I find further information or help?
• Contact Mr Cade (Deputy Headteacher) by email: dec@clarendonacademy.com
• email finance@acorneducationtrust.com
What catering facilites do we have?
Clarendon Academy has 3 catering facilities for students provided by Acorn Collaborative Services:
- The Bistro – The main kitchen and eating area for the students.
- The Edward Hyde Hall – Serving Hot Pasta, Snacks and Drinks.
- The Snack Shack - Serving Hot Pasta, Snacks and Drinks
Students are also able to bring in their own packed lunch to eat inside or outside.
The Catering department are an in house team, giving us control of what is served to our students. 90% of our products on sale are made fresh onsite.
Acorn’s Executive Chef Manager, Joel Deverill, works closely with local suppliers to find the best ingredients at the best price to ensure our students are being served high quality food.
We are working on the catering department becoming plastic free. We so far have managed to remove all plastic cutlery and replaced them with wooden, as well as some of our plastic drinks bottles being replaced with recyclable cartons.
We feel as a school that we should be doing our part for the environment and sharing that knowledge with the students.
